Colin Waugh, a career commodity and derivatives markets trader, fund manager and researcher, began trading the first generation of EU-ETS credits while working at New York-based global macro fund Galtere Ltd in 2006. The fund launched a sub-fund focused on climate volatility in 2006 which grew to be 20% of the firm's AUM. Later, he researched carbon credit schemes and the evolving global climate change mitigation initiatives in various global emissions regimes, including the EU, US, and China.
